Building a better community is the responsibility of the
organizations that serve those communities. The University of Alberta takes
this very seriously and tries to provide programs and services that can make
the lives of local residents better. These services range from summer camps to
outreach programs designed to create and improve the connections within the
community. If you live in the Edmonton area, then there are programs that the
University of Alberta offers that can help you and others in your community
with a variety of issues and enrichment opportunities. You can take advantage
of these three University of Alberta Outreach programs.
Science and Education Programs
The University of Alberta offers a wide range of programs targeted
at different age groups focused on education and continued learning. For
college students and older learners, UAlberta's Institute for Space Science,
Exploration and Technology (ISSET) offers science-based learning opportunities. Every year, it hosts
the Space Exploration Symposium, which gathers some of the best minds in space
exploration to present new findings and ideas. ISSET's AuroraWatch lets you
follow the real-time progression of the Northern Lights, which is a great way
to stay involved with science and education, even if you have a very busy
schedule.
Community Programs
Aside from its educational programs, UAlberta is also focused on
offering a wide range of community outreach programs. You do not have to be a student of the
university to participate in any of these learning and developmental programs,
which include summer camps, internships, and extended learning courses. There
are also special events - each with a distinct focus - planned throughout the
year that you and your family can participate in. UAlberta also has an
extensive collection of art, artifacts, and other collectibles that are made
available to the public throughout the year. You can take a tour of these
exhibits at the university during scheduled times and exhibitions.
Summer Camps
Summer is on its way, and the University of Alberta is working
hard to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to get into summer camp. The
university hosts a large number of summer camps at competitive prices so that
you can get your kids into multiple education-focused camps throughout the
summer. Registration for these camps is open now, and they are beginning to
fill up. However, there are so many sessions of each camp being offered
throughout the summer that you may not have to worry your kids missing out on
getting a spot. The camps mainly focus on the sciences and exploration as a way
to promote continued learning throughout the summer.
Taking part in the University of Alberta's programs can be an
effective way of getting the services and support that you need. With summer
approaching, the summer camps are an especially useful option. There are new
programs being offered all the time that you should take advantage of. Stop by

to all of the programs that you want to go to safely.
