Do You Feel Lucky? If You Do, Try Your Hand at One of These 4 Casinos

Do You Feel Lucky? If You Do, Try Your Hand at One of These 4 Casinos

Edmonton, Alberta, has one of the highest populations of First
Nations peoples anywhere in Canada. Thanks to that and certain province laws,
the city and neighboring area host a fair number of casinos and casino resorts.
Like any casino, the house always wins, but if you're feeling lucky and you
have some spare change you can stand to lose, there are a few places you can
risk your money.

River Cree Resort and Casino

The River Cree Resort and Casino is one of the premier places to gamble
your money, and it sits out on the west end of town where Whitemud Drive and
Winterburn Road meet. The casino offers 40 tables where you can risk your money
along with over 1,000 slot machines, plus you can get a bite to eat at casual
spots like the Tap 25 sports bar or a meal at the Shane Chartrand restaurant.
The River Cree Resort is also one of Edmonton's major venues and hosts a lot of
the big acts that come to Alberta.

Casino Yellowhead

Casino Yellowhead is in the northwest part of town, just off
Yellowhead Highway on 153 Street. Casino Yellowhead is proud to offer tables
for high-stakes baccarat and blackjack, plus it has a 24-hour poker room with
three weekly and one monthly tournament. For entertainment, it has the Pearl
Showroom, a stage where all kinds of local and national acts show off what they
have to offer. The casino also has Canadian food, an Asian fusion cafe, and a
bar that mixes good drafts with great cocktails.

Century Casino and Hotel

Century is another popular resort-casino, this
one on the northeast side of town along Fort Road. For gambling, it has a
little of everything: slot machines, a great variety of table games, a
high-limit area where you can really test your luck, and a poker room that's
open 24/7. Century also has three regular bars and a sports bar scattered
around the main floor, and the Mid City Grill offers a variety of Canadian
classics mixed with a few unusual options. For entertainment, Century has the
Showroom general venue and Yuk Yuk's Comedy Show.

Northlands Park

You'll find Northlands Park Racetrack and Casino on Borden Park
Road just south of the Edmonton Expo Center. Unlike the other casinos on this
list, Northlands Park has a horse track where you can bet on the races, and if
there's no racing going on, you can bet on over 150 other tracks worldwide. The
track is also home to the Canadian Derby. As for the rest of the casino,
Northlands Park offers 550 slot machines, several restaurant options, and a
special Players Club Rewards Program.

Edmonton might not be an international destination like Las Vegas,
but it has a fair number of big casinos and resorts where people can have a lot
of fun by spending their time and money. With entertainment, races, card games,
and slot machines, Edmonton locals don't need to make the long trip south to
enjoy themselves. Be sure to take your new Jeep or Ram you recently bought at Crosstown Chrysler Jeep Dodge out for a spin on the way to one of these well-known casinos.
