Another amazing Edmonton Folk Festival has just drawn to a close.

Simultaneous performances occurred throughout the four day festival on several different stages, including the Main Stage and six additional stages. Opening the festival Thursday night at the Main Stage were The Duhks, followed by Bombino, Angus & Julia Stone and Of Monsters and Men.
Check out the mezmerizing talent of Bombino here - as someone so succintly put it, he is a unique blend with a pronounced African sound infused with a West Coast rock vibe from an earlier decade.
Featuring numerous performing artists from August 6 through 9, this year's festival saw Adult and Youth festival tickets quickly sell out by July 29. Festival organizers responded by making available 300 additional Youth tickets for 12-17 year-olds for each of the Thursday and Friday evening performances that billed artists who appeal to youth. Sinead O'Connor had unfortunately cancelled the gig in late July due to health reasons, as did The Wind and the Wave due to scheduling conflicts, so taking their places were Frazey Ford and Sam Amidon respectively.
Here is a sampling of some of the performers featured, from 'The Mistress' and 'The Night' by Amelia Curran, through to Aurelio Martinez: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert, and 'Buried Alive In The Blues' by Amos Garrett.
