Fort Edmonton Park is a fun place to experience some of Canada's history
through living museum displays and costumed interpreters. There are fun
activities and events throughout the season for the whole family to enjoy. Here
are four things to see at Fort Edmonton Park this summer.
Capitol Theatre
Cinema Series
The Capitol Theatre Cinema Series features a different movie each week at
the vintage movie theatre. Built in 1918, the Capitol Theatre was rebuilt in
2011 so that now you get a modern movie viewing experience with all the current
technology, comforts, and conveniences housed in a classic setting. The theatre
shows classics like "Dial M for Murder," "The Greatest Show on
Earth," "The Quiet Man," "Forrest Gump," "War of
the Worlds," and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." Tickets are
available online in advance or at the door.
Dernia Harvey –
Celtic Gathering Kick Off
Fort Edmonton Park is hosting the largest annual Celtic
Gathering in Northern Alberta this summer. With a wide variety of
activities for both children and adults alike, we guarantee you’ll have a great
time!
Check out Derina Harvey and the five-piece Celtic-rock act at the Capitol
Theatre July 7 to kick off the Celtic gathering event. From fresh takes on
classic tunes to their newest songs, the band knows how to put on a show based
on their strong following. Tickets are available both online and at the door.
Wednesday Afternoon
High Tea at Johnson’s Cafe
Enjoy your summer Wednesdays with a throwback pioneer experience at High
Tea at Fort Edmonton Park. Have delicious sandwiches and desserts to
compliment the high-quality tea of your choosing.
There are many more events and attractions to see at Fort Edmonton Park if
you’re looking for fun activities for you and your loved ones this summer. The park is the go-to destination for summer fun and memorable events in Northern Alberta!
