Take Time Off Work Now to Catch These 4 Alberta Rodeos

Take Time Off Work Now to Catch These 4 Alberta Rodeos

There are so many great rodeos to enjoy around Alberta throughout
the year, it's hard to know which are worth the visit. These are the four best
rodeos in Alberta that are worth taking time off of work for.

Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede is one of the largest and most iconic
rodeos in Alberta. The event has been taking place every year for the last 104
years. There's bull riding, barrel racing, and a chuckwagon derby which features
36 teams of horses and riders.

In addition to rodeo events, there is a huge country music
festival during the Calgary Stampede. Each year, up to 300 performers entertain
audiences across five stages throughout the week. If you get hungry or thirsty
there are plenty of food and drink stalls to enjoy all day long. Craft and
artisan stalls are aplenty, too, with wares for sale from local artists.

Sundre Pro Rodeo

The Sundre Pro Rodeo takes place every summer in the small town of
Sundre, Alberta. Although the town is small, the event is huge. There's mutton
busting, bull riding, and chariot and wagon races.

Get a ticket for the entire weekend so you can indulge in the
Friday barbecue and the Saturday morning pancake breakfast. There are also fun
events for kids like kids steer riding and pony races. You can even try your
hand at milking a cow.

Canadian Finals Rodeo

The Canadian Finals Rodeo is one of the last rodeos of the year in Alberta. This rodeo
happens each November in Edmonton, and is a best-of-the-best event for bareback
riding, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding, and ladies barrel racing.
It's usually a five-day final with days packed full of different events.

There are several different food vendors available at the event
where you can get burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, and beers. There is also a live
music event each night after the rodeo wraps up and is open to all ticket
holders over 18 years of age.

Strathmore Heritage Days Stampede

This is the summer rodeo to head to if you've ever dreamed of
running with the bulls. Anyone can volunteer to run from the bulls. This is the
only event of its kind in all of Canada. Be sure to book early if you want to
take part in this event because they cap it at 80 people. A ticket to run with
the bulls also includes a ticket to the event that takes place around the same
time.

If watching a rodeo is more your speed rather than being in a
rodeo, you can grab tickets to any of the rodeo events they have during the
four-day event. There is bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel
racing, novice bareback, and chuckwagon racing.

Whether you're looking for a fun day out with the family or you
want to take part in some of the adrenaline of the rodeo, there are so many great
events to check out in Alberta.  It’s also a great opportunity to use your
recently-purchased vehicle from Crosstown Chrysler Jeep Dodge to get there.
